In line with Shelford’s ‘rugby for all’ philosophy, the club continues to develop rugby programmes for targeted audiences. The aim of these rugby programmes is to allow people of all different ages and abilities to enjoy some form of rugby activity along with the other benefits of being part of the Shelford Rugby Club family.
The Walking Touch Rugby programme is a great example of this. Offering less-mobile people with varying levels of skill and experience the opportunity to partake in touch rugby sessions at a level they feel comfortable with. Players can have fun, get fit, develop their skills and interact with like-minded individuals.
These rugby programmes are developed and delivered by the Director of Rugby along with the community rugby team and volunteers.
