Our holiday rugby camps and in-season rugby clinics are run for our own club members as well as both people from schools with club links and other local rugby clubs.
The club organises regular 3-day rugby camps for children aged between 6 years old and 16 years old. These camps tend to fall during the October half term, February half term and August summer holiday.
A series of rugby specific one day or half day clinics are also delivered by the club. These clinics cover more detailed areas of the game like scrum, lineout, contact confidence, attack principles, defence principles, kicking and various position specific skills. As well as using the clinics to upskill players, the clinics can be used as valuable coach development opportunities for coaches as well as teachers from schools, colleges and universities linked to the club.
Shelford Rugby Club partners with Gillick Coaching for the coordination and delivery of the rugby camps and clinics. On top of Gillick Coaching’s qualified team and our own coaching team, guest coaches are often invited to run clinics at the club for example, Russell Earnshaw’s ‘Gamification’ clinic and School of Kicking clinics.
